Welcome

Although born on 14 October 2014 this blog has been dreamed about for a long time. So what’s it all about?

Many years ago, while I was training to become a holistic therapist, I was asked to create an image that represented how I felt about my work. It took no time at all to settle on the symbol you see here (which was commissioned by me but created by my dear friend and outstanding deigner, Audrey Botha).

A revered figure of myth and legend, often linked with my ancestral land of Phoenicia (ancient Lebanon), the phoenix symbolised renewal to many ancient cultures.

The Arabians believed that it consumed itself by fire every 500 years and a new, young phoenix sprang from the ashes. To the Egyptians the phoenix represented the sun, which dies at night and is reborn each morning. Early Christians adopted it as a symbol of both immortality and resurrection.

The phoenix is my inspiration…a reminder, that we too have the power to renew ourselves.

So here is my blog. My aim is to share stories from inspirational people, alongside my own experiences, photos and other ideas to help fuel the flames…

…see you by the fire!
